Course Description

Understand the costs and causes of Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs). Learn assessment and treatment options for DFUs along with long-term management strategies for DFUs.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
  • Understand the background and significance of diabetes
  • Examine the etiology of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs)
  • Identify assessment techniques for individuals at risk for developing diabetic foot ulcers
  • Recognize the appropriate management methods of DFUs

This course was developed as part of Medline’s Global Health Initiative and is an extension of an education collaboration in Argentina between local nurses in Salta, Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC), and the Corporate Social Responsibility team at Medline.
