Delirium has a multibillion dollar financial impact every year. It can be traumatizing to patients, family members, and care givers. This course will provide an overview of how to recognize, prevent, and manage delirium in the adult hospitalized patient. By having a clearer understanding of delirium, it may be possible to decrease delirium rates in the patient population that has modifiable risk factors. Course participants will also learn methods for providing appropriate care for their patients who do develop delirium.
