Course Description

Knowing the process of Basic The newest BLS course guidelines focus on performing several tasks simultaneously with a group process that promotes efficiency and minimizes errors. This course will teach participants how to perform life support techniques, including chest compressions, basic airway management, rescue breathing, AED use for defibrillation, and more. The course package includes an online BLS study guide and a BLS instructional presentation.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Understand the general concepts of Basic Life Support for children and adults
  • Have working knowledge of the principles of 1 and 2 rescuer CPR
  • Understand how to perform CPR for adults, children, and infants 
  • Be familiar with basic operation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
  • Be familiar with the algorithms for specific BLS cases
  • Understand basic airway management
  • Understand how to act to relieve choking

This course is intended for certified nursing assistants and healthcare assistants.
