This course will provide nurses and other healthcare professionals with information about the risk factors that make a person susceptible to contracting COVID-19 as well as its clinical presentation. In addition, CDC and WHO guidelines will be presented to help healthcare providers and institutions prevent the spread of the virus in acute care settings and long term care facilities.
After completing this course, the learner should be able to describe the risk factors that make a person susceptible to contracting COVID-19 and recognize its clinical presentation. The learner should also be able to implement COVID-19 specific prevention strategies recommended by CDC and WHO for their specific healthcare setting, including proper hand hygiene and donning of PPE.
This course is designed for nurses and other healthcare and caregiving professionals in various settings, such as hospitals, nursing facilities, the home, as well as in the community.
