Course Description
Pressure injury in the emergency department (ED) is important. Patients are at a greater risk of developing a pressure injury the longer they stay in the ED, where focus is on more immediate medical needs. Review risks and implement prevention measures specific to the ED.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the relationship of pressure ulcer development to the ED setting
- Identify ED patients at risk for pressure ulcer development
- Learn about important interventions for the prevention of pressure ulcers in the ED
