Surgical hand antisepsis—when performed correctly with the right technique and the right product—effectively prevents surgical site infections (SSIs) in the perioperative setting.

- Discuss the importance of surgical antisepsis.
- Explore the benefits of using alcohol-based hand antiseptic solutions.
- Identify strategies to increase clinician participation in the use of alcohol-based hand rubs.
