Course Description
This course will introduce the importance of wound assessment and documentation, review types of wounds and relevant staging systems, outline the wound assessment process, discuss wound inflammation and infection, and present several wound documentation tools.
Learning Objectives
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe causative factors related to the development of a wound
- Label essential tools for wound assessment
- Explain three similarities and two differences between inflammation and infection
- Label the stages of pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
