New Course Builds on Skin Health Education for Diverse Skin Tones
By Brenda Kozak, DNP, MSN, RN, CNE| June 30, 2026
Pressure injuries and other skin conditions can present differently across various skin tones, making accurate assessment essential for early identification and intervention. Our new course, Skin Assessments for Diverse Skin Tones, helps clinicians strengthen their ability to recognize skin changes across a broad range of patient populations and apply evidence-based assessment practices with greater confidence.
Designed for nurses and clinicians involved in direct patient care, this course explores common challenges associated with assessing skin findings across diverse skin tones, including situations where visual cues may be less apparent. Learners will gain practical knowledge that supports more accurate assessment, improved clinical decision-making, and more equitable patient care.
This course examines the challenges and goals of conducting skin assessments across diverse patient populations.
