Course Description
Utilizing adult learning principles, an apple analogy was developed to help identify the various pressure injury (PI) stages and levels of tissue involvement. The “Apple P.I.E” Pressure Injury Explanation Staging Educational Tool gives comparisons and pictures for quick and easy evaluations. This concept looks at each PI stage and definition and compares it to a state of an apple. Just like the PI stages are based on level of tissue involvement, we can compare them to the state of an apple at different times.
