Course Description

Prevention of pressure injuries begins with a complete and thorough assessment. Conditions such as diabetes and hypertension can be key factors in the development of pressure injuries. A patient’s medications and particular lab values should also be evaluated. Understanding the factors will help you identify potential risks before a pressure injury can develop.

Learning Objectives

In this course, the learner will:

  • Learn about the Braden Scale and the Norton Plus Scale.
  • Review prevention devices and therapeutic devices.
  • Learn about off-loading and positioning measures.
