Course Description

In this course, we’ll explore central line catheter use, the etiology and epidemiology of CLABSIs, associated risks, and evidence-based practices for prevention. By the end of this course, you’ll understand the critical importance of CLABSI surveillance.

Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain three routes implicated in CLABSI pathogenesis.
  • Identify the three stages of biofilm development.
  • List the four daily central venous catheter (CVC) review steps.
  • Describe three supplemental CLABSI prevention strategies.
