The goal of this program is to define and discuss the Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals for 2020, including the problems and concerns that have led to its implementation. The program provides a detailed review of the various patient safety goals that have been identified for implementation, plus the Elements of Performance that will be required to meet these goals.
Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the concerns and problems that led to development of the Joint Commission's NPSG
- Describe the patient safety goals for acute settings
- Identify and implement the key safety measures developed to accomplish the patient safety goals
