In 2026, The Joint Commission (JCAHO) introduced National Performance Goals (NPGs), which replaced the National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) and now apply to both hospitals and critical access hospitals. These new goals target 14 key priority areas designed to enhance safety and patient outcomes.

Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the purpose of the 2026 National Performance Goals (NPGs).
- Describe the key expectations within each of the 14 performance goals.
- Recognize how these standards apply to daily clinical and operational practice.
